General Daily Custodial Duties
Offices:
Empty trash every shift; Vacuum once or twice a week as needed; dust rooms as needed and deep clean and shampoo carpets once a year.
Restrooms:
Clean restrooms each shift; scrub & clean toilets, sink and glass daily; empty trash every shift; dust mop each shift; wet mop each shift as needed; Refill paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers each shift .
Hallway floors & entrances:
Vacuum daily or as needed; sweep outside steps and entry ways daily as needed; empty all trash daily; clean glass doors each shift; vacuum carpet mats at doors each shift; dust as needed hallways, walls, doors etc; clean water fountains each shift and clean top of all vending machines once a week; mop or run floor keeper twice a week; buff tile and terrazzo floors weekly.
Class Rooms:
Empty trash every shift; clean black and white boards each shift; vacuum carpeted areas every shift as needed; dust and wipe tables, computers, printers and tables daily as needed
Lounges:
Clean restroom each shift; clean tables each shift; dust and vacuum each shift; empty trash each shift; empty shredder bag as needed each day; clean microwaves; wet mop when not carpeted.
Library (1st & 2nd floors):
Clean Offices 2 times a week; vacuum carpeted areas each shift as needed; empty trash each shift; dust once a week; clean steps as needed; wipe tables when needed; clean glass doors each shift; best time is from 9:00p.m.. to 9:30p.m.
Windows:
Squeegee inside and outside as needed campus wide.
Elevator:
Clean each shift.
Flags:
Maintenance puts up @ 7:45a.m. A custodian (Mike) takes down after 4:30 p.m.
Campus Wide Lock Down – all doors:
9:15p.m. thru 9:45p.m. – Mon - Thurs. and Friday 4:30 – 5p.m. (making sure all doors are locked campus wide).
Dorms:
Hallway floors, lobby, computer room & entrances:
Vacuum daily; sweep outside steps and entry ways daily; empty all trash containers each shift; clean glass doors
& all glass each shift in lounge and entry ways; vacuum carpet mats at doors each shift; vacuum hall way carpets daily;
dust daily or as needed hallways, walls, washers, dryers & doors etc.; clean top of all vending machines once a week;
clean water fountain each shift in cafeteria lounge.
Restrooms & Showers:
Clean Restrooms each shift; scrub & clean toilets, sink and glass daily; clean showers each shift; power scrub
showers once a week or as needed; empty all trash every shift; sweep floors each shift; wet mop floors each shift; power
scrub restroom floors once a week or as needed; refill paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers each shift.
Dorm rooms during summer breaks:
Inspect, repair, paint, strip and wax-refinish floors as needed; clean heat & air units and filters.
