Institutional Scholarships

- The Board of Trustees Scholarship is an academic scholarship open to high school seniors or those who have graduated within the last year. Students completing a homeschool high school program are also eligible by meeting the ACT requirement below. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 OR have an ACT composite score of 24 or better.
- Be a first-time entering college student. (College credit earned while in high school does not affect initial eligibility.)
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC.
Scholarship award could be up to $600 per semester, renewable for three additional semesters with continuous full-time enrollment and a minimum GPA of 3.25. This award can be applied to any educational expense.
- The Missouri Boys/Girls State Scholarship is an institutional scholarship granted to two high school seniors who attended Missouri Boys or Girls State. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Have an ACT composite score of 24 or higher OR graduate in the top 20% of their high school class
Scholarship award is for the year at $500.
- The E2 Education Empowers scholarship is awarded to an incoming full-time, first-year NCMC student. The NCMC scholarship committee will select the recipient. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Must be resident from the NCMC service area consisting of the following counties in Missouri: Andrew, Atchison, Caldwell, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Putnam, Sullivan or Worth.
- Incoming high school students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in high school and supply a copy of their high school transcript.
- GED students must have a minimum score of 501 and supply a copy of their GED scores.
- College transfer students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 from the previous college and must provide a copy of their college transcript.
Scholarship award is $600 renewable for up to 3 additional semesters with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA. This scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books, and on campus housing. Scholarship applications are provided annually by the Financial Aid office upon request in the fall semester.
- New Traditions scholarships are for NCMC students who are displaced homemakers, single parents, nontraditional majors, economically disadvantaged, or have a disability or limited English proficiency. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Financial Aid Office.

- Athletic Scholarships are available to outstanding athletes in the areas of softball, baseball and basketball. Recipients are selected on an individual basis by the NCMC Athletic Director and coaches.
- International Scholarships are available for International students on an F-1 student visa, qualified applicants may be eligible for up to $500 a semester in scholarship funds based on funds availability. Renewal of the scholarship each semester is based on maintaining F-1 visa status, satisfactory academic progress, and no disciplinary actions for conduct.
State Scholarships

- The A+ Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of an A+ designated high school who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools. - The Missouri Higher Education Academic Scholarship Program (Bright Flight Program) is a merit-based program that encourages top-ranked high school students to attend approved Missouri postsecondary schools. Students eligible for the Bright Flight Program should contact NCMC’s Financial Aid Office. Foundation Scholarships
- The Willis W. Alexander Scholarship was established in memory of Willis W. Alexander. Mr. Alexander was born in Trenton and earned degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Pennsylvania. He retired as an executive vice president of the American Bankers Association and passed away in 1985. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Enrolled as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is $500 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 GPA.
- Additionally, one separate Willis W. Alexander Scholarships will be given in memory of Willis Alexander by John F. Rose and Kris F. Rose. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Currently working toward an AA degree with the goal of obtaining a BS/BA degree
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
- Demonstrate good citizenship
- Currently enrolled in an Economics class at NCMC

Scholarship award is $500 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA and continue seeking an AA degree with the goal of obtaining a BS/BA degree.
- The Thomas Anthony, M.D. Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Thomas Anthony, M.D for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education. Dr.
Anthony completed his bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York at
Binghamton, and then graduated with honors from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Washington, a surgical oncology fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, and a master’s of science degree in epidemiology from the Harvard University School of Public Health. At the time of his death, Dr. Anthony had just been appointed chief of surgery at the Boise, Idaho VA Medical Center. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:- Currently working toward an AA degree with the goal of obtaining a BS/BA degree, preferably in education.

Scholarship award is $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.
- The Robert Bailey Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 in memory of Robert Bailey. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Be a Trenton High School graduate; and o Currently working a part-time job
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is a one-time $350.
- The Sherry Carey Memorial Scholarship* was established by the family in memory of Sherry Carey, a former nurse who passed away at an early age. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Currently in the PN or ADN program
- Excelling in academics, clinical and theory
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is $450, renewable for one semester with continuous full-time enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.

- The Warren and Nanetta Carter Women’s Basketball Scholarship is awarded to a women’s basketball player. Selection for the award is made by the head coach. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Have high moral standards
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Currently in good standing with NCMC
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
- Must be a NCMC Women’s Basketball player
Scholarship award is a minimum of $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous full-time enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.0 cumulative GPA and continue to be in good standing with NCMC.

- The Church Women United of Grundy County Scholarship is funded by profits from the local Thrift Shop. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Enroll as full-time student at NCMC, currently residing in Grundy County
- Currently in one of the following programs: AA Teaching, Agriculture and Natural Resources or Allied Health.
Scholarship award is $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 GPA.
- The Nancy and Peter Trombley Coca-Cola Scholarship is provided through the generosity of Nancy and Peter Trombley to be used to assist area students in reaching their educational goals. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.
- The Cross Allied Health Science Scholarship* was established through the generosity of Dr. Albert and Carol Cross. Dr. Albert and Carol Cross of Trenton want to help students achieve their higher educational dreams which will change their lives and the lives of their families forever. Dr. Cross is a strong believer in the importance of higher education. After high school, he attended college in Maryville. He then taught school in Melbourne, Missouri where he was also the principal. In 1951, he was called to serve his country during the Korean War. After military service, he attended and graduated from the University of Kansas City School of Pharmacy. He then attended the University of Missouri’s School of Medicine while working as a Pharmacist. After graduating from medical school, he did his residency at Kansas City General Hospital. Thereafter, Dr. Cross practiced in the medical field in Trenton from 1963 to 1995. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:

- The William and Juanita Denslow Scholarship was established by the Denslow family to assist a student from northern Missouri in achieving their higher educational goals. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
- Be from northern Missouri
Scholarship award is $500 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.
- The Jack & Annie Derry Scholarship was established by the Derry family to assist a women’s softball player from northern Missouri in achieving their athletic and higher educational goals. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Must be a freshman or sophomore NCMC Women’s Softball player
- Be from northern Missouri within the 16 county region
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.
- The George and Marguerite Dunn Scholarship was established in 1978 by the Dunn family. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
Scholarship award is $500 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.
- The Margaret Ellsworth P.E.O. Scholarship* is awarded to a student enrolled in the LPN or RN program. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Nursing student; LPN or RN program
- Demonstrate financial need
- Enroll as a full-time student at NCMC
- Be a Trenton High School graduate Scholarship award is $350 per semester, renewable for one semester with continuous fulltime enrollment, provided you achieve a 2.5 term GPA.

- The Lynn Freeman Scholarship was established in memory of Lynn Freeman and his outstanding service to the local community. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Be a Trenton High School graduate
- Demonstrate financial need

- The Everett and Hazel Frey Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Everett and Hazel Frey. Students must meet the following criteria to be considered:

- Demonstrate school/community leadership
Scholarship award is renewable for three additional semesters with continuous full-time enrollment and a minimum GPA of 3.5. This award can be applied for books, course fees, and on-campus housing.
