Position Summary

Plans, organizes, and directs all ongoing fundraising and special project funding programs for the institution.

Essential Functions

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, implement, and execute an Annual Fund plan designed to generate unrestricted income to assist the programs and operations of NCMC
  • Develop donor data base and keep current
  • Organize direct mail, phone, and social media campaigns to reach potential contributors
  • Lead the development of strategies that result in the achievement of dollar and alumni participation goals
  • Serve as Director and lead strategic planning efforts of the NCMC Foundation Board
  • Assist in the coordination and management of Foundation/Institutional Scholarships with the Financial Aid Department
  • Enlist support from members of institution staff, the governing body, and volunteer organizations
  • Manage and evaluate development staff
  • Establish development policies and procedures
  • Prepare and administer department budget
  • Identify potential contributors for special project funds and ongoing operations through examination of past records, individual and corporate contracts, and knowledge of community.
  • Plan and coordinate special fund drives and campaigns
  • Coordinate responsibilities for personal solicitation to members of staff volunteer organizations, and governing body according to special interests or capabilities
  • Assist in the coordination and management of Foundation/Institutional Scholarships with the Financial Aid Department
  • Work with Marketing and Public Relations to develop print, video, and social media methods and materials and to enhance institution image and promote fund raising
  • Plan and coordinate annual NCMC Gala, Annual Foundation Golf Outing, Donor recognition event, and other events related to fundraising initiatives and programs
  • Community relations with emphasis on donor and constituent stewardship
  • Manage donor recognition program
  • Develop and implement a planned giving program
  • Responsible for researching public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of external funding for NCMC
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of maintaining records of contributors and grants
  • Participate in required trainings, travel when necessary, and complete other duties as assigned.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, business, public relations or other applicable field.

Experience: Fundraising experience required. Previous experience in sales, marketing, and finance helpful.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, handle concerns, solve problems, and skill of persuasion is needed.

Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk while typing and answering phones.

Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while moving on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.
