North Central Missouri College hosted their third Annual Foundation Golf Tournament on Friday, August 29 at the Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe. With 72 golfers from across the region participating, the event was a tremendous success. The money raised during this event directly support the Foundation’s drive to raise scholarship funds to support area youth. Several area businesses helped sponsor the tournament, including awards for the participants.
Prior to the tournament, Teresa J. Cross, NCMC Foundation Director, described the impact that tournament funds have on the growth of the Foundation, and Dr. Neil Nuttall, NCMC President, emphasized his support of event. Several student athletes were on hand to help out and tell their story about how scholarships benefitted them personally.
Team Sager (Keith Kepner, Kyle Marcolla, and Craig Sager) took first place honors with a score of 57 (-15). Second place went to Barnes Baker (Bill Jones, Jim Stewart, and Donnie Raybourn) with a score of 62 (-10). Third place, determined after a scorecard playoff, was awarded to Farmers State Bank (Vince Neal, Mike Hooker, and Dave Quigley) with a score of 64 (-8). Other winners were Longest Putt – Dan Michael; Closest to Pin – Craig Sager; Closest Second Shot to Pin - Kyle Marcolla; Women’s Longest Drive – Vicki Weaver; and Men’s Longest Drive – Keith Kepner.
