Students from Brookfield High School continued their strong showing from years past in the annual Math Exploration Day held at North Central Missouri College on February 13. BHS took first place in the team competition as well as first, second, and third place in individual competitions. Students from Gilman City team placed second as a team.
Nearly 50 students from Brookfield, Gilman City, Grundy R-5, Osborn, North Mercer, and Stewartsville participated in several activities, and contests were conducted by faculty of NCMC’s math and science departments. Lola Swint, chairman of NCMC’s math department, was the event organizer.
Winning first in the team competition were Brookfield students (from left in Picture 1) Brock Wright, Ryan Elliott, and Andrew Crutcher. Winning second in the team competition were (from left in Picture 2) Ashley Tucker, Dylan Sievering, and Alec Sievering from Gilman City High School. Individual winners were Andrew Crutcher (first), Ryan Elliott (second), and Adam Palmer (third), all from Brookfield.
