Standout high school athletes from across northwest Missouri will be playing basketball on Saturday, June 7 in Trenton as a part of the annual Lions All-Star Basketball Classic. Eight games will feature nearly 90 high school standouts from the 2013-2014 season with all games being played at the Ketcham Community Center on the campus of North Central Missouri College.
Girls’ teams representing the Purple and Gold squads will tip off the day with a 9 a.m. start followed by the Girls’ White and Black teams meeting at 10:30 a.m. The boys’ teams will take the court at noon with the Purple and Gold teams battling it out to be followed by a 1:30 p.m. tip off between the White and Black teams from the boys’ contingency.
At 3:00 p.m. the girls’ consolation game will be played between the losing teams from the morning’s play to be followed by the boys’ consolation game at 4:30 p.m. Then at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., the winners of the girls’ and boys games’ from earlier play will meet in the championship matches.
Team rosters will be announced by the District Lions Committee in the near future.
Admission for a full day of basketball is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under. All proceeds will go to support the programs of Lions District 26-M4 with an emphasis on scholarships. Neither Ketcham Community Center passes nor MSTA passes will be accepted for admission to the games.
