Employee Earns State Recognition

November 14, 2013

North Central Missouri College’s Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Megan DeWitt received the Bob Berger Newcomer Award at the Missouri Association for Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP) Fall Conference held this week at the Lake of the Ozarks. MASFAP is a statewide organization dedicated to serving students, opening avenues to access the benefits of higher education and advocating for the maintenance of high ethical standards in the financial aid profession.

The Bob Berger Newcomer Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of individuals new to the financial aid profession. It is presented in honor of the late Bob Berger, former Director of Student Financial Aid at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Berger’s service in the financial aid community began in 1971 and until his death in April 2002, he ensured that students were the focus of his career. He believed and exemplified that a student’s success in education is paramount in the financial aid industry.

Ms. DeWitt was nominated for the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions at the institutional, regional, and state levels, her dedication to keeping students’ interests as her first priority, and her leadership in participating in and supporting student aid related activities and programs. She was employed by North Central Missouri College in June 2010 and was promoted to her current position on January 1, 2013. She and her husband Sawyer are Jamesport residents.
