Foundation Golf Tournament a Success

The North Central Missouri College Foundation held its Second Annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, August 30 at the Riverside Country Club in Trenton. Thirty teams of golfers participated in the event. Proceeds, after expenses are known, will benefit the Foundation’s scholarship fund.

Winning teams in the morning flight were Team Dr. John Holcomb/Holcomb Optometry (Dr. John Holcomb, John Bain, Allan Seidel), first; Hometown Pharmacy (Dave Jennings, Ian Gray, Blake Riley), second; and Cameron Regional Medical Center (Jan Arnold, Steve Arnold, Tim Holt), third place. In the afternoon flight, Team Dorothy Fries (Bill Fries, Evan Fries, John Surber) placed first; Eagles Backflow (Kent Clodfelter, Stacy Clodfelter, Larry Bunnell) was second; and K & W Popcorn (John Kennebeck, Todd Maxey, Cliff Roeder) was third. Unfortunately, no hole-in-one prizes were won; however, Bill Fries of Trenton won a new Nike Covert driver in a contest at Hole #6.

The following were event sponsors: Barnes-Baker Automotive, Dr. John Holcomb, Great Western Dining Service, Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and Trenton Hy-Vee Food Store. Hole sponsors were Cameron Regional Medical Center, Citizens Bank & Trust, Ellison-Auxier Architects, Inc., Empire District Gas Co., Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, Great Western Bank, KI Furniture, Industrial Construction Services / Brian Roach, Landmark Manufacturing, and Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Contest sponsors were Nanetta Carter, Global Instruments, Ltd., Grundy County Lumber, Modine Manufacturing, and PDQ Cleaning Service, Inc. Prize sponsors were El Nopal Restaurant, Great Western Dining, Hy Vee Food Store, KTTN Radio, KC Royals, NCMC Bookstore, NCMC Foundation, Pizza Hut, Royal Inn Pizza, The Barn Restaurant, Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and Washington Street Food & Drink.

Members of the golf tournament committee were Dr. John Holcomb, Darren Lauhoff, Wendell Lenhart, Craig Sager, Vicki Weaver, Scott Wilson, Mack Woodard, Brent Wyant, and NCMC Coaches Donnie Hillerman and Steve Richman, and event organizers were staff members from the NCMC Development/Foundation office: Teresa Cross, Leah Brinser, and Gina Graham. Several NCMC student/athletes also assisted.
