After working for three years on institutional self-assessment, North Central Missouri College submitted its 270 page self-study document to the Higher Learning Commission on Thursday, December 15. According to Dr. James Gardner, the HLC Self-Study Coordinator, “The process of reviewing our institution has been intensive; however, the information we gathered will be extremely beneficial for the future success of NCMC. We are very proud of the faculty and staff who stepped forward during this self-assessment and made the self-study process and subsequent document a success.” The Higher Learning Commission will send a five-member team to NCMC on February 27-29 to verify the findings of the self-study in order to recommend continued accreditation for the College.
In the late spring, NCMC will host a celebration for all employees and constituents involved in the completion of the self-study process. HLC Steering Committee Chair Dr. Jamie Hooyman remarked, “Everyone deserves a celebration as a result of their hard work and dedication in completing the self-study. It has been a long journey but well worth the time and effort in developing and maintaining our institutional effectiveness.”
The next steps for NCMC are to set a formal agenda as well as provide additional required materials for the team to review between now and their official visit in February.
All self-study materials are available for public viewing on the NCMCHLC website.
