McKenzie Russell from Kirksville High School signed a letter of intent this week to play basketball with the Lady Pirates at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. She was a two-time All State guard for the Kirksville Tigers.
Her senior season stats were 13.3 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.1 steals per game with percentages of 47% field goal, 63% free throw, and 41% 3-point field goals. McKenzie played in 101 games and scored 1,240 career points, setting the school record for the most 3-point shots in a career with 133.
Head Lady Pirates Coach Jenni Croy commented about this player, “We have had the opportunity to watch McKenzie several years now during our NCMC Holiday Hoops. We really like how she creates so many scoring opportunities for herself as well as her teammates on the court. McKenzie is an outstanding addition to our Lady Pirates program and we are excited to see her to continue to grow as a player.”
Previously signed recruits for the 2013-14 Lady Pirates are Kayla Oetterer (New Haven) and Meagan O’Dell (Hartville).
