The NCMC Lady Pirates will now participate in the NJCAA National Tournament, Women’s Division II, which will be hosted by Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Overland Park, Kansas during the week of March 18-22. NCMC will play the first game of the tournament on March 18 at 9 a.m. against St. Clair County Community College of Port Huron, Michigan. NCMC is seeded 14th and St. Clair is seeded third. This is a double-elimination tournament. If NCMC wins, they will play at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and if they lose they will play at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. There are 16 teams in this national tournament.

Athletic Director Steve Richman commented, “This is a good opportunity to support our Lady Pirates in a national tournament because it is so close. Basketball fans can see some great games without traveling a long distance.” JCCC is located at 12345 College Boulevard in Overland Park. Ticket prices: adult daily pass $10; seniors 65 and over or students with valid high school or college ID, $5; children ages 7-12, $1; and those under 6, free.

There are plans for a Booster Bus to travel to JCCC. It will leave Trenton at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18 and return to Trenton in the early afternoon. The bus will go back to JCCC on Wednesday for the Lady Pirates’ game that day as well. Anyone interested in riding the Booster Bus should call the Ketcham Community Center front desk at 660 359 3948 ext. 1450 to reserve a seat. There is no cost to ride.
