Coach Kristin Boyes of the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates softball team has announced her first recruit signing for the 2012-13 season. Danessa Derry, daughter of Danny Derry and Lisa Derry of Princeton, has signed a letter of intent to play softball at NCMC in Trenton next fall. She is a senior at Princeton High School.
Miss Derry has been a member of the Lady Tigers softball team all four years of her high school career (District Champs in 2008, 2010 and 2011 and Sectional Champs in 2008). She was named to the All-District team in 2009, 2010, and 2011 and was a unanimous pick for the First Team All-Conference in 2011. She is a third-baseman/pitcher. Derry also played basketball where she was on the 2011 All-District Team and the All-Conference Second Team.
Other activities for Miss Derry include Student Council, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, GRC Academics, 4-H, and membership at the First Christian Church at Princeton.
At North Central, Derry will major in accounting.
