Richmond Standout to Play Basketball at NCMC

May 6, 2014

Reid Summers, son of Scott and Tammy Summers of Richmond, Missouri will attend NCMC and play for the Pirates basketball team this fall. He joins Caleb Berry from Lee’s Summit as new recruits for the 2014-15 season.

Summers is a 6’4” guard with a high school career scoring total of 2,036. Of this total, 1,197 were from 3-point shots. Summers holds the NCMC Holiday Hoops record for 3-point shots, and it is believed that he holds the Missouri state record as well. During his senior year, Summers averaged 27.2 points and 7 rebounds per game. His athletic honors include All-District, All-Conference and KMZU Dream Team all four years and All-State his junior and senior years. Summers was also KMZU Player of the Year his senior year. In the classroom, he earned Academic All-State recognition.

Head Coach Steve Richman commented about this recruit, “Reid Summers is a big-time shooter and he will fill a void that we currently have on our team. He is a great kid as well as a great player. I am looking forward to seeing him develop his talent into the next level.”

Reid Summers would like to eventually transfer to a four-year university and earn a degree in sports medicine.
