The second and third signees for North Central Missouri College’s Pirates baseball team for 2014-15 have been announced by NCMC Assistant Coach Ryan Suttenfield. They are Smith Kemper from South Callaway High School and Cody Arella from Orchard Farm High School.
Kemper, according to Coach Suttenfield, “. . . is a versatile player who is a proven winner. He was a key contributor to a state championship team during his sophomore year and has been a team leader ever since. For the Pirates he will earn time as a middle infielder as well as on the pitching mound.” Tony Brandt, athletic director at South Callaway, remarked, “Smith was a four year letterman for us and as a senior he is helping lead his team in the field, on the mound and at the plate.” He is the second signee for NCMC from South Callaway; the first was Gordon Arthaud, also a pitcher.

Signee Cody Arella is from Orchard Farm High School in St. Charles, MO. “Cody excels at hitting and will play catcher as well as corner infield for the Pirates. He leads the St. Louis area in multiple hitting categories and will be a middle-of-the-order type batter. During his junior year he was a second team All-State catcher,” said Coach Suttenfield. Cody Arella is currently hitting .433 (29/67) with an on base percentage of .506, slugging percentage of .806, 7 2B's, 6 HR's and 20 RBI.
