Softball Player Named Player of the Week

April 10, 2014

The National Junior College Athletic Association has named Hailey Lowery of the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates softball team as Player of the Week for the week ending March 30. The Lady Pirates participate in the NJCAA’s Division I for Women’s Fastpitch. For the week, Lowery recorded a batting average of .615 with 8 hits in 13 at-bats. She scored 7 runs and had 15 RBI’s.

A freshman, Lowery is a graduate of Staley High School in the North Kansas City school district. While in high school, Lowery was a member of district and conference championships teams and also participated on the KC Pride, a summer fastpitch softball program in the metro area.

Lady Pirates head coach Megan Cairns commented, “I was excited to sign Hailey to play for NCMC when I recruited her last spring. I knew she had a dependable bat with an extraordinary amount of power and an aggressive defense. And now this recognition from the NJCAA is a great honor for her and our program. I am very proud of her.”

Lowery is the daughter of Sandy and Levin Lowery of Kansas City.
