Steele Scholarship Recipients Announced

December 16, 2013

The first two recipients of the Paul and Betty Preston Steele Agriculture Scholarship at North Central Missouri are Brandon Cummings of Hamilton and Gary Eads of Jamesport. This scholarship, established by Mr. and Mrs. Steele of Chillicothe, allows students pursuing a degree related to the Agriculture and Natural Resources career pathway to receive funds in both the fall and spring semesters of their sophomore year.

The scholarship is a part of the NCMC Foundation’s new Gifts in Action Scholarship Campaign, which encourages the formation of new endowed scholarships. NCMC Director of Development Teresa J. Cross commented, “The Steeles set up this scholarship as a result of their love of agriculture and their high respect for the NCMC Agriculture and Natural Resources program under the direction of the Department Chairman David Nowland and Barton Farm Campus Manager Rustin Jumps. Their generosity will benefit NCMC students for many years to come.”
