Student Athlete to Transfer to William Woods

July 1, 2013

Javier Ledesma, a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, has committed to attend and play baseball at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri.  He has been a shortstop with the Pirates baseball team at North Central Missouri College for the past year and will join his former Pirates teammate James Ball, who also signed to play at William Woods next season.

This summer, Ledesma is playing for the Chillicothe Mudcats while taking classes at NCMC. The Mudcats team is a member of the MINK League, a summer collegiate baseball league with eight teams throughout Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.  It provides a venue for college players who wish to develop their skills playing in an environment of increased competition in preparation for entering the Major League Baseball amateur draft.
