Ronald D. (R.D.) Nagel, an NCMC student from Ewing, Missouri, recently won a $1,000 scholarship from the NCMC Foundation given in memory of Willis W. Alexander. R.D. wrote an essay titled “How Economics Class has Impacted my Future” which was selected as best of all essays by students in classes taught by Sarah Bird and David Nowland. He is working toward his Associate of Arts transfer degree from NCMC and his expected career field is Business Management.
Willis W. Alexander was born in Trenton and earned degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Pennsylvania. Rose of Fresno, California, presented the NCMC Foundation with five $1,000 scholarships to be given to business students in honor of Mr. Alexander, who had been one of Dr. Rose’s instructors at Trenton Junior College (now known as North Central Missouri College). Mr. Alexander was chairman of the Trenton Trust Company while teaching part-time at TJC.
