North Central Missouri College in Trenton is offering industrial maintenance, manufacturing skills, and welding skills training tuition-free for individuals who qualify. These programs are funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Accelerated training classes will begin August 18 and last 16 weeks. They are designed to lead to industry-based credentials as well as eventual college certificates. Tuition is free for those who qualify; however, students will be responsible for any books, student fees, lab fees, or other required supplies.
Two informational meetings about these training programs will be held -- in Trenton on July 8 at the NCMC Barton Campus Lager Lab building, 96 SE 8th Avenue; and in Chillicothe on July 9 at the Grand River Technical School, 1200 Fair Street. Both meetings are on a come-and-go basis from 4 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is not required.
Anyone interested in obtaining a job or in gaining new skills in industry is encouraged to attend one of these meetings. Additional information can be found at www.ncmissouri.edu under MoManufacturingWINs or by calling 660 359-3948 ext. 1359.
