Upward Bound Students Receive Scholarships

Seven members of North Central Missouri College’s Upward Bound program have been awarded scholarships from the NCMC Foundation. These students are taking dual credit courses through NCMC, and these scholarships can be used toward their dual credit course expenses. The named scholarships awarded are the William and Juanita Denslow Scholarship and the Everett and Hazel Frey Memorial Scholarship.

Upward Bound Upward Bound is a nonprofit federal grant program that helps eligible high school students prepare and enroll into postsecondary education. Upward Bound is 100% federally funded through the Department of Education at $236,925.

The students and their scholarships are: front row, Kristen Cash of Kidder (Denslow); Amara Pratt of Galt (Frey); and Madison Spoor of Kidder (Denslow). Back row, Skyla Southwick of Laredo (Frey); Alyxis Jennings of Chillicothe (Denslow and Frey); and Samuel Hamilton of Gallatin (Frey). Not pictured is Grace VonOpitz, also of Gallatin (Frey).
