February 9, 2018
Harris Cameron from Gallatin, Missouri, has been selected as North Central Missouri College’s Outstanding Student for February. Harris is an A+ student, receiving his Associate in Arts in Teaching degree for cross-categorical special education from NCMC. After Harris graduates from NCMC, he will be attending Northwest Missouri State University to complete his bachelor’s degree in teaching special education.
Harris is involved in men’s basketball, SMSTA, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. When asked about why he chose NCMC Harris responded “I chose NCMC because it’s close to home and my sister went here and said it was great. Everyone is so nice at NCMC, and the instructors are really helpful here.”
Harris went on to say, “My favorite class has been Education Technology. You worked with a lot of different apps, and I learned so much that I can use as a future teacher.” Harris then said, “I enjoy that my classes are small and I get a lot of one-on-one attention from the instructors; they really help you as a student.”
Each month, a student is nominated by a faculty or staff member to be featured as an Outstanding Student based on their dedication to educational success, attitude toward learning, and hard work in their field and activities.
