North Central Missouri College up 11.5% in Student Enrollment

September 27, 2017

North Central Missouri College’s student enrollment has increased 11.5% overall for the fall 2017 semester compared to fall 2016. At the census point, overall student headcount is up 11.5% with credit hours up 7.7%. Largest increases include part-time students, students transferring in from other institutions, non-traditional students, and international students. NCMC was also up both for first-time freshmen and returning students.

“In our planning process, we placed a great deal of emphasis on enrollment,” said, Dr. Klaver, President of NCMC. “The strategies and tactics we’ve employed, along with a lot of hard work from recruiting, advising, and our faculty, and staff have paid dividends. We found that our common approach of providing uncommon attention resonates with prospective students.”

NCMC has dedicated strategic planning efforts, organizational restructure, and staff investment with enrollment increase and retention as the focus of these endeavors. NCMC has implemented a stronger focus on advising, marketing initiatives, and expanding the recruitment efforts to NCMC’s entire service area region.

“Our enrollment growth can be explained in one word: trust. NCMC is known across our service region and beyond as the best choice for a high-quality education at an affordable price,” stated Kristie Cross, Admissions Director.  “We’re small enough to know the student personally and large enough to prepare them for either a 4-year university or the workforce upon graduation. While we are thrilled with the growth, we continue to take the greatest pride in the exceptional educational experience provided to our students.”

“The plan was laid out in very simple terms from the beginning, everyone on campus bought into the philosophy, and we achieved the numbers that we had anticipated,” said, Craig Sager, Marketing Specialist. “Everyone at NCMC is a spokesperson for the school, marketing just connects the dots and delivers a clear message.”

NCMC will look at the breakdown analysis of the data to center attention on what areas enrollment is up, what opportunities there are for growth, and executing development based on interest and demand. Looking at the numbers in closer detail will allow NCMC to make data-driven decisions and continue to be a progressing educational resource.
