Student Affairs Blog: The Inaugural Post and Eclipse 2017

Welcome to our very first NCMC Student Affairs blog post! Each year I make an effort to try something new or place myself in a new experience. It’s an attempt to remind myself of what our first-time college freshmen are going through as they enter into the world of higher education. Entering college can create anxiety, fear, and excitement all at the same time, much like some of the initiatives I’ve tried! Those experiences have included such things as: taking scuba- diving lessons, learning to play the guitar, starting my doctoral classes, and even becoming a parent! Some scarier than others!
The initiative for this year is starting this blog and I hope you find it helpful. Some of the posts may be more lighthearted, while others may be more serious or thought-provoking. Please take from them anything you find useful, even if it includes just a smile. I hope each of you know that at NCMC, our entire college community is glad you are here! We value education and we understand our role is to assist in your education in many different ways and through many different means. If you have a question or we can help you as you navigate college, please don’t hesitate to ask! We are here because of YOU!
As a first post, let’s keep it light! I thought I’d share a few potential t-shirt ideas to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21st, which also happens to coincide with THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES! Whoop! Whoop! Without further ado, here they are:
