*ESL A program to provide instruction to English language learners to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the English language in order to improve the student's participation in the community and improve their opportunities for employment and/or training.

*AEL/GED A program designed to assist adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self sufficiency; to assist adults who are parents to obtain the educational skills necessary to become full partners in the educational development of their children and; to assist adults in the completion of a secondary school education.

Adult Education & Literacy provides services in Basic Education Skills for adults who need to work on improving basic reading, writing and math skills; GED Preparation for adults who wish to work on passing the GED test; English Language Learning for non-English speaking adults who wish to improve on reading, writing, and math skills in addition to preparing them for the citizenship test; ACT Preparation for adults who are required to take the ACT in order to pursue post-secondary schooling.

NCMC’s AEL program is supported by local, state and federal funds and currently operates in the Chillicothe, Trenton, Brookfield, Bethany, and Jamesport locations.
