| NCMC’s program is designed to prepare individuals to work in a wide variety of health care environments. The tasks can include but are not limited to maintaining files, completing forms, scheduling, arranging referrals and services, taking histories, preparing patients for exams and procedures, assisting the physician, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilizing medical instruments, instructing patients, preparing and administering medications, authorizing medication refills, telephoning prescriptions, arranging exam rooms, and purchasing equipment. (Credits from this program may be transferred into the Medical Assistant Program (A.A.S.), Medical Transcriptionist certificate program, and the Medical Insurance and Billing Specialist certificate program.) |
