Memorandum of Understanding
Between Missouri Southern State University
and
North Central Missouri College
This agreement is made and entered into as of the 4th day of April, 2007, by and between North Central Missouri College (NCMC) and Missouri Southern State University (MSSU).
WHEREAS, Missouri Southern State University will offer degree completion studies for students from North Central Missouri College to earn the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration Degree. This proposal will apply primarily to, but is not limited to, students that have completed the Associate Degree at North Central Missouri College.
Articulation of Coursework
General Education Core
Transfer students from NCMC who have completed the State of Missouri General Education Core Curriculum (42 semester hours) prior to enrolling at MSSU are assumed to have met Areas 1 through 4 of the MSSU Core Curriculum requirements. Transfer students must additionally meet requirements for Area 5 of the MSSU Core Curriculum. All these requirements may be met by taking equivalent courses at NCMC as indicated in the attached Appendix.
Please see attached Appendix, regarding General Education Core Evaluation, for a listing of courses offered at North Central Missouri College and how those courses will be accepted for transfer at Missouri Southern State University. Please note, the 2006-2008 MSSU catalog and the 2006– 2007 NCMC catalog were used to develop this document.
Criminal Justice Administration Educational Offerings
Please see attached Appendix for course and transfer requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration. This includes an evaluation of credit earned at NCMC along with a listing of credits needed to complete the degree from MSSU.
Hour Requirements
NCMC students will be required to complete 60 hours from a four year or higher college or university, the final 36 hours must be completed at MSSU. All other MSSU requirements for graduation must be met.
Cost
North Central Missouri College students taking MSSU courses in partnership with the NCMC campus will be charged the prevailing resident MSSU tuition rate and applicable fees.
North Central Missouri College students taking internet courses will be charged the prevailing resident rate and applicable fees. MSSU and NCMC will work together to provide an orientation for students wanting to complete their bachelors degree.
Miscellaneous
<!--[if !supportLists]-->v <!--[endif]-->NCMC will work with MSSU to recruit adjunct faculty who must meet MSSU departmental approval. Adjunct faculty will be compensated at the prevailing adjunct rate, currently at $1,800 per three hour course taught ($600 per credit hour).
<!--[if !supportLists]-->v <!--[endif]-->MSSU will provide a Blackboard template for online classes and will train and supervise adjuncts.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->v <!--[endif]-->NCMC students are eligible to apply for other transfer scholarships including the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship, Board of Governor’s, University Academic Transfer Scholarship, and Transfer Scholarship. Eligibility requirements for the scholarship are published in the MSSU catalog and on the web site.
