The Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) is designed to prepare a student for employment in a specific occupational area. Students complete 15 hours of general education courses and a minimum of 46 credit hours in their chosen career field. This degree has very limited transferability. Please check our AAS transfer guides for more information. Certificate programs prepare students for entry-level employment. NCMC awards occupational certificates to those students who complete the requirements of a one-year career program. Students can build on these program to complete an A.A.S. degree.

If your goal is to gain a competitive edge in today's job market in a short amount of time, our one- and two-year career programs offer the training you'll need. Students receive valuable on-the-job experience and specific career skills.
