• Pay all NCMC tuition and general fees
• Allow other college scholarships and/or loans to be used for books, fees, housing, meals, transportation or other expenses

1. Apply for admission as a degree-seeking student
2. Send final, official transcripts to NCMC. This includes your A+ stamped high school transcript and any college transcripts from dual credit/dual enrollment.
3. Complete the FAFSA every October NCMC school code: 002514
4. Enroll in the minimum number of credit hours required. 12 hours for fall/spring or 6 hours for summer

The A+ Scholarship pays for completed, grade-assigned coursework and general fees. There is a maximum per credit hour that will be paid for by the scholarship. The MDHEWD website provides details. Reimbursement is also subject to state funding availability.

• Repeated coursework.
• Coursework that is part of a higher level certification or degree that is not related to the original certificate or degree.
• Withdrawn coursework (tuition/fees will be re-applied to the student’s account).
• Course-specific fees, housing or books

After federal money has been applied, including the Pell grant.

• All hours completed at participating A+ institutions (including remedial coursework).
• All hours accepted in transfer from an institution that is ineligible for A+ participation (4-year, private or out-of-state colleges and universities).

• Hours earned before high school graduation such as dual credit and dual enrollment.
• Hours earned from an ineligible A+ institution that do not transfer to NCMC

No. The A+ Scholarship can only be used at 2-year public community colleges or career/technical schools. Some 4-year universities offer what may be called an A+ scholarship but these are not part of the statewide A+ program. Requirements and rewards are different than the Missouri A+ Scholarship Program.

Yes. You must enroll in at least 6 credit hours and be degree-seeking at NCMC. If you are attending a 4-year institution, you can participate in our Reverse Transfer program.  By participating in Reverse Transfer, students can potentially receive a degree from NCMC while also completing a degree at their 4-year college or university. Students must enroll in at least 6 credit hours in the summer or 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters and be degree-seeking at NCMC to use their A+ Scholarship. Once a minimum of 15 credit hours are completed through NCMC (dual credit counts!), students should send an official copy of their transcript from the 4-year college or university to determine degree eligibility.

A+ program participants must provide a final, official A+ stamped high school transcript to the NCMC Office of Admissions.

Yes, unless you reach 105% of funding or the 48 month expiration.

Yes. However, if the local scholarship has restrictions, those must be honored. If there are no restrictions on the scholarships, those funds may be used to non-A+ eligible expenses such as books, housing, and other fees.

It’s easy! Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA, be degree-seeking, complete 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters (6 credit hours in the summer), complete a FAFSA each hear, and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

If a returning student or incoming student ceases attendance for the purpose of providing service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, the eligibility of the student will be extended for the period of the service as documented on the student’s DD214 form. Remaining eligibility will be retained if the student returns to full-time status, or qualifies for an exception of the to the full-time status requirement, within twelve months of the end of military service and provides verification to the department that the military service was satisfactorily completed.
