What A+ Doesn’t Do

A+ doesn’t:

  • Mean I have to come from a rich family
  • Force me to graduate as the valedictorian or be one of the few “best and brightest” in competition for merit-based scholarships
  • Create expectations that I understand Pell to know college is affordable and within my grasp
  • Allow me to sit idly and not take ownership for my grades, my conduct, and opportunities for me to tutor others
  • Tolerate excuses others have used to miss school
  • Discriminate based on race, gender, socio-economic background, or other classification of which I have no control
  • Create expectations that high school’s should tend to high school business  and college’s should tend to college business.  Collaboration exists
