The Computed Tomography (CT) program is designed for registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologists a means to meet the structured education requirements necessary to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registry Examination in Computed Tomography.  This allows those individuals to continue their education in medical imaging and advance in the profession.  This Certificate can be completed in two-semesters.

GENERAL INFORMATION

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS PROGRAM

Upon completion of the Computed Tomography (CT) Certificate program, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
  2. Achieve clinical requirements of an entry-level computed tomography technologist, as defined by employers.
  3. Provide a safe environment for the patient and deliver age-appropriate patient care in a variety of clinical situations.
  4. Utilize appropriate radiation protection techniques for patients and personnel.
  5. Perform routine and non-routine computed tomography imaging procedures.
  6. Evaluate computed tomography images for proper diagnostic quality and take corrective action when needed.
  7. Implement critical thinking and problem solving.
  8. Educate the public and members of the healthcare team on the benefits and hazards of radiation exposure.
  9. Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in support of the profession.
  10. Appreciate the value of professional development and continuing education.
