Addison White, a North Central Missouri College (NCMC) student from Trenton, MO, has achieved an exceptionally high score on her Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps) exam, earning her the title of Missouri State Champion during the Spring Qualifier. As a result, Addison was invited to compete at the Certiport’s 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in Dallas, Texas, this June.
At the national championship, qualifiers compete in the Microsoft Word track against other top-scoring students from across the nation. The competition offers the chance to win scholarships, prizes, trophies, and the prestigious title of U.S. National Champion, which includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the world championship in Orlando, Florida, in July.
NCMC Business Instructor Madi Stillwell praised Addison, stating, “Addison is very young, but very bright. She was not afraid to ask questions and was eager to learn more about Microsoft Offices. I am sure she will be successful in her future with her constant willingness to learn.”
Addison is a dual credit homeschooled student taking NCMC dual credit courses and plans to graduate in the spring of 2026. After graduating, Addison plans to transfer her credits to Truman State University and major in history. Addison said, “This achievement means so much to me and I know that I never would have had this opportunity without Madison Stillwell’s instruction along with the support of so many others at NCMC who have helped me grow and succeed.”
The 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship is not just a competition but a platform for students to network, gain recognition, and enhance their professional skills. Students will participate in leadership workshops, professional development sessions, networking events, and fun activities throughout the competition to further develop their skills and celebrate their achievements.
