North Central Missouri College is proud to recognize Angela Heins, TRIO SSS Assistant Director, as the June Outstanding Employee. Angela is from Trenton, MO (hometown Carrollton, MO) and has been a dedicated member of the NCMC team for seven years. Angela has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently working on her master’s in education.
When asked about her role, Angela described it as “Fun. Rewarding. Unpredictable.” Her favorite thing about NCMC is “The campus community. I love that all the NCMC staff are willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed!”
During her time at NCMC, Angela has helped expand SSS student engagement through programming and workshops that meet students where they are, such as Career and Coffee chats, First Gen Club, and the reintroduction of etiquette dinners as Hungry for Success Dinners. These are designed to help students bring whatever knowledge they currently have and build on it, with no prep required. Angela would like to continue expanding the First Gen Club and see TRIO secure another grant for the Savannah Campus.
Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with her family and dog, as well as drawing. She also spends time on homework and learning about history.
