North Central Missouri College is proud to recognize Andrea Schuelke, PN to AND Online Coordinator and Nursing Instructor, as the August Outstanding Employee. Andrea is from Bedford, IA, and has been a dedicated member of the NCMC team for six years. Andrea has a Master of Science in Nursing- Nursing Education.
When asked about her role, Andrea described it as “multi-faceted, challenging, and Fun!” Her favorite thing about NCMC is “the people. NCMC has an amazing team of people working to serve students, and it’s a great team to be a part of! I also love the chance to be a part of so many amazing nurses’ journey in advancing their roles and careers. So many of our students have inspiring stories and reasons for wanting to become RNs.”
During her time at NCMC, Andrea has helped build the ADN online learning community within Brightspace. She has also worked alongside colleagues to establish an NCMC chapter of NCF (Nurses Christian Fellowship) for students. Andrea would love to grow student participation with NCF. She also has a goal to have a cohort where every student who starts the program in the fall, graduates the following spring and passes the NCLEX.
In the future, Andrea sees the nursing program continue to provide quality education and produce quality nurses. She would like to continue to work on ways to support students who are living full-time lives who want to further their education. Andrea would also like to continue to work on individualized guidance and support in an online/asynchronous setting.
Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, photography, and being in nature.
