North Central Missouri College is proud to announce that Trenton, Missouri native and NCMC alum Dalton Berry has been named the college’s next Chief Information Officer. Dalton began his role in January and oversees all components of the Information Technology (IT) department.
“I’m honored to join NCMC and excited to be part of an institution that’s committed to giving students the uncommon attention they deserve,” Dalton said. “I look forward to working alongside faculty and staff to support that mission and help the college continue moving forward.”
Dalton Berry is originally from Trenton, Missouri, where he graduated from Trenton High School. After high school, he felt a strong desire to be part of something larger than himself and chose to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, beginning what would become nearly a decade of military service.
While serving in the Marine Corps, Dalton began his college education through North Central Missouri College, taking advantage of the institution’s flexible online programs while deployed. That experience reinforced his commitment to lifelong learning and his appreciation for accessible education that allows students to pursue their goals regardless of location or circumstances.
Throughout his military career, Dalton served in roles centered on information systems, cybersecurity, and technical instruction. He supported secure operational environments, managed critical technology systems, and later served as an instructor responsible for preparing and mentoring students in technical career fields. These experiences helped shape his leadership approach, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and the importance of developing people alongside systems.
Alongside his professional experience, Dalton continued to advance his education in technology and leadership. He earned a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology and a Master of Business Administration, combining technical expertise with organizational and strategic preparation. He also holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional growth and excellence.
In addition to his operational and academic background, Dalton has taught cybersecurity and information technology courses at the university level, supporting diverse learners in online and classroom environments. His teaching experience reflects a strong belief in mentorship, accessible education, and helping others build practical skills that translate into meaningful careers.
Dalton values family, community, and service, and he and his family are proud to be returning to Missouri. Coming back to the region represents a professional milestone and a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community and educational institutions that supported his journey.
