Ethan Shupe from St. Louis, MO, has been selected as North Central Missouri College’s Outstanding Student for April. Ethan, a Missouri A+ scholarship student, is pursuing an Associate in Arts (sports management) degree and will graduate in May. After graduating from NCMC, Ethan plans to transfer to a four-year institution to continue playing collegiate baseball and obtain his bachelor’s degree.
At NCMC, Ethan is an athlete on the Pirates baseball team, a Residence Assistant, and involved in Pirates Digital Media, where he was an announcer for Pirates basketball games. Ethan said, “My favorite thing about NCMC has been getting to know other students and athletes. I like that NCMC is small, and you can get to know everyone so well.” Ethan’s favorite class has been marketing with Instructor Madi Stillwell. Ethan said, “I enjoyed that class because it was the most beneficial and applicable to real life. Instructor Stillwell said everyone is a marketer, and the class gave us some real-world, hands-on learning.”
Ethan continued, “I chose NCMC to play baseball, but it was more than that. I really like the small-town community feel, and that you know everyone on campus. Everyone knows you by your name, and all the instructors are really personable.”
Each month, a student is nominated by a faculty or staff member to be featured as an Outstanding Student based on their dedication to educational success, attitude toward learning, and hard work in their field and activities.
