Join us as we honor Distinguished Alumni, Lead Gift Contributors, Voyage Fund donors, TJC/NCMC Alumni and all NCMC friends & family during the Pirates Ball on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
The North Central Missouri College Foundation held the fifth annual Voyage Fund Pirates Ball on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Ketcham Community Center on the NCMC main campus in Trenton. The evening began with a reception for the members of the 2022 Class of Distinguished Alumni, Dr. Jennifer Collier Blacksmith, Jackie Persell Soptic, and Barbara Higdon Spencer. The reception was followed by a plated meal provided by Great Western Dining and featured an entrée of chicken cordon bleu or smoked pork loin. The rest of the evening was a mixture of the Caribbean steel and island sounds of Soca Jukebox, a program featuring the three distinguished alumnae, and a reverse raffle fundraiser. Money from the reverse raffle benefited the Voyage Fund and the audience participation served as part of the evening’s entertainment.
What is a reverse raffle?
During a reverse raffle, instead of one winning ticket being drawn ALL raffle tickets are drawn with the losing tickets being selected first and the final winning ticket/s drawn last. The final three raffle ticket holders must unanimously decide to split the winnings equally or continue the drawing until there is one winner who claims the grand prize.
The Foundation accepts nominations for NCMC Distinguished Alumni at any time, and all nominations are considered. You may submit nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award by completing a nomination form. To learn more please view the Nomination Process. The former student must have successfully completed at least one semester at TJC/NCMC and agree to be nominated to be eligible for nomination.
