Moore Fans, of Marceline, MO, was recently named a winner of the Community College Partner Award by the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA). This statewide award is presented to individuals, businesses, industry, educational partners and community organizations that have engaged in significant partnerships with their local community college to stimulate economic activity and support students and programs.
Moore Fans has become a key supporter of North Central Missouri College’s Robotics program and competition team. Initially, the support was through a cost-share of a new training robot. Most recently, the company has generously pledged financial support of the robotics team with an annual donation to help offset the cost of team supplies and equipment for competitions. Plant tours and classroom visits are also part of the new collaboration.
NCMC’s Industrial Technology Instructor and robotics team coach, Mr. Rick Sharp, stated that Moore Fans was very deserving of this award, “The leadership of the company was eager to step up and offer assistance to our robotics and automation program. We are thankful for their backing and proud of the company for winning this award and of our partnership with them.”
During a recent tour of the company’s production facility, students from NCMC’s robotics program along with NCMC President Dr. Lenny Klaver presented the MCCA award to John Moore. Dr. Klaver shared, “Collaborations with our employer partners benefit our students immensely and create applied learning opportunities that add tremendous value to our career tech programs.”
