The North Central Missouri College Foundation Board of Directors met on August 15th to welcome new board members, hold officer elections, and provide committee updates and other business at a quarterly meeting in Cross Hall. New directors include Crystal Berry, Joyce Cutsinger, and Amy Lewis, who were all voted on at the May quarterly meeting. All three introduced themselves and shared a little about their backgrounds; they will each serve a three-year term.
Crystal Berry, a resident of Green City, MO, brings a wealth of experience and a national reputation for excellence in strategic communications. She currently serves as Vice President at 25th Hour Communications, where her visionary leadership has played a pivotal role in the firm’s success. Crystal is a devoted wife and mother of four, with her two oldest sons enrolled at NCMC through credit and dual credit programs. With over 20 years of dedicated service to community colleges in various marketing and communications roles, Crystal is eager to leverage her extensive expertise to further the mission of NCMC and the Foundation.
Joyce Cutsinger, a Trenton native, attended Trenton grade school, middle school, and college in the same building, present-day Geyer Hall. She completed her PN degree in 1980 and her ADN (RN) degree in 1982 at NCMC, where she worked for 23 years, first as an instructor in the Nursing Department and then as the Allied Health Coordinator. Joyce received the Governor’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2002 and 2008. Retiring in 2012, Joyce and her family remain devoted Pirate Basketball fans. Joyce’s husband, Ralph Cutsinger, passed away in 2020, three months before their 50th wedding anniversary. Joyce has two children and two grandchildren.
Amy Lewis is an alum of NCMC and Moberly Area Community College and earned a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Missouri. In 2023, she obtained a PhD in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. Amy held various positions at Pershing Health System, such as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COVID-19 Specialist, Administrator of Special Projects, and Patient Access Supervisor. Currently, she is employed by Select Rehabilitation as the Director of Rehabilitation at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe. Amy, mother of three and grandmother of three, resides in Brookfield, MO, with her husband.
The nominating committee proposed the following officer slate for 2024-2025: Allan Seidel as President, Seth Cox as Vice President, Cathy McKay as Treasurer, and Tricia Key as Secretary (a non-voting position). Allan Seidel, a native of Trenton and a member of the Distinguished Alumni Class of 2018, has been serving as President since 2018 and board member since 2013. Seth Cox, from Laredo, is Vice President for his second year and has been a board member since 2016. Cathy McKay, also from Trenton and a Distinguished Alumni Class of 2013 honoree, joined the board in 2018 and is now in her third year as Treasurer.
The NCMC Foundation, a 501(c)3 IRS-approved organization, works to advance, encourage, assist, and support the growth and development of NCMC in whatever ways are beneficial to its student body, faculty, and administrators. The activities of the Foundation include fundraising, sponsorship of sustaining programs, and special projects related to the curricula and the real facilities of NCMC. In addition, the Foundation Board of Directors administers over $6 million in endowed scholarships and supports campus development and special projects through capital campaigns. Board members include trusted community and regional leaders from a variety of area businesses and industries.
