The North Central Missouri College Foundation Board of Directors met on August 21st to welcome a new board member, hold officer elections, provide committee updates, and other business at their quarterly meeting in Cross Hall. New board member Dr. Gabe Edgar was voted on at the May quarterly meeting. Dr. Edgar introduced himself and shared a little about his background; he will serve a three-year term.
Dr. Gabe Edgar of Bucklin, Missouri has been in education for over 25 and most recently served as Superintendent of the St. Joseph Public School District. Dr. Edgar worked for the Marceline School District from 1997 to 2018 before transitioning to St. Joseph. Earning his Executive Doctor of Education in 2013 from William Woods University, Dr. Edgar is also a graduate of the State of Missouri Leadership Academy and past president of the Central Missouri Superintendents’ Association. Dr. Edgar and his wife, Becky, have three grown children, Andrew, Maycee, and Kennedy.
The nominating committee proposed the following officer slate for 2025-2026: Allan Seidel as President, Seth Cox as Vice President, Cathy McKay as Treasurer, and Tricia Key as Secretary (a non-voting position). Allan Seidel, a native of Trenton and a member of the Distinguished Alumni Class of 2018, has been serving as President since 2018 and a board member since 2013. Seth Cox, from Laredo, is Vice President for a third year and has been a board member since 2016. Cathy McKay, also from Trenton and a Distinguished Alumni Class of 2013 honoree, joined the board in 2018 and is now in her fourth year as Treasurer.
The NCMC Foundation, a 501(c)3 IRS-approved organization, works to advance, encourage, assist and support the growth and development of NCMC in whatever ways are beneficial to its student body, faculty and administrators. The activities of the Foundation include fundraising, sponsorship of sustaining programs, and special projects related to the curricula and the real facilities of NCMC. In addition, the Foundation Board of Directors administers over $9 million in endowed scholarships and supports campus development and special projects through capital campaigns. Board members include trusted community and regional leaders from a variety of area businesses and industries.
