NCMC to Hold Time Capsule Burial Ceremony on September 8
North Central Missouri College will commemorate its history and celebrate its future with a Time Capsule Burial Ceremony on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shakespeare’s Rock on the NCMC Main Campus in Trenton, Missouri. The ceremony follows a landmark year for NCMC. During NCMC’s Centennial Celebration in September 2025, the College opened a time capsule that had preserved memories and artifacts from an earlier era of the institution’s history. Building on that tradition, NCMC will now place a new time capsule into the ground, preserving a moment of NCMC for future generations. The capsule is scheduled to be opened in September 2050. The event will bring together students, employees, trustees, alumni, and community members to celebrate the College’s legacy and its continued commitment to serving our communities. A collection of artifacts representing campus life, academics, student activities, and technology will be sealed within the capsule. The program will include welcome remarks from NCMC Board of Trustees President Diane Lowrey, followed by remarks from Student Senate President Crista Perry and Interim President Dr. Jamie Hooyman. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the items selected for inclusion before the ceremonial burial.
