NCMC Library Purchases Student Artwork

The North Central Missouri College Library recently purchased a piece of artwork from NCMC student Weston Newlin from Princeton, Missouri. Since 2003, the NCMC library has annually purchased art from a student which is then framed and hung in the library accompanied by a small plaque with its title, the artist’s name, and their graduation date. Weston’s artwork is a graphite pencil drawing entitled “Anchor” and was completed in his Drawing 1 class with instructor Jim Norris.

Weston graduated from NCMC this spring with this two year associates degree and plans to transfer to pursue a math degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. “I was excited for the opportunity,” said Weston. “I created the artwork specifically for NCMC.”

The NCMC Foundation Board donates the plaque on behalf of NCMC for the project, and the artwork is framed and matted by instructor Jim Norris.
