North Central Missouri College will host the Missouri State SkillsUSA Competition on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the NCMC Savannah Campus.
As part of the statewide SkillsUSA competition, the Robotics Automation Contest will challenge two‑person teams to demonstrate advanced technical and teamwork skills through the design and implementation of an automated robotic work cell. Each team will be presented with a simulated industrial task along with detailed wiring schematics.
Using industry‑standard best practices, participants must integrate a six‑axis industrial robot with a variety of peripherals, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), motorized components, and industrial sensors. Teams are required to document their process, configure and program the robotic system, and present their completed solution to a panel of judges.
Judging will be based on technical accuracy, operational efficiency, speed, documentation quality, and team collaboration, reflecting real‑world industrial automation expectations.
“Both of our competing teams have worked diligently, and our expectations are very high,” said Rick Sharp, Industrial Technology Instructor at North Central Missouri College.
Hosting this competition highlights NCMC’s continued commitment to hands‑on technical education and workforce development, while providing students with opportunities to apply classroom learning in a competitive, industry‑aligned environment.
