The North Central Missouri College SkillsUSA robotics team, represented by Josie Sigars and Connor Hershley, recently accomplished a significant milestone by earning a podium finish at the national SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Contest held in Atlanta, Georgia. NCMC’s team earned the Bronze medal in the nationwide competition. Their journey to the national competition began with a first place win at the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology competition, besting two other NCMC teams who finished second and third at the state level.
NCMC’s Industrial Technology Instructor and SkillsUSA advisor and team coach, Mr. Rick Sharp, was very pleased with the team’s results. He said, “Josie and Connor earned every bit of their accomplishments. They were eager to practice leading up to the events and performed at a high level by demonstrating their skills at the challenging contests presented to them. They’ve set the bar for themselves and hope to return again next year.”
This was the first national medal for a team from North Central Missouri College at the SkillsUSA competition. Recently, the NCMC SkillsUSA robotics program gained a sponsor and is now proudly supported by Moore Fans, located in Marceline, Mo. Coach Sharp commented about the new team sponsor, “We are very fortunate that one of our area companies took an interest in our robotics and automation program to provide additional resources, materials, and equipment for our students. The group at Moore Fans recognizes the importance of investing in the next generation of manufacturing professionals.”

North Central Missouri College offers a Robotics Skills certificate and a Robotics and Maintenance certificate at the NCMC Savannah Campus.
