In honor of North Central Missouri College’s centennial, NCMC will spotlight 100 inspiring stories throughout the academic year. These narratives will showcase the voices and journeys of our alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors, and the communities that have shaped TJC/NCMC’s legacy. Each story is a tribute to the people throughout history who make NCMC extraordinary.

1988-1989
At the age of 27 and a mother of three, I decided to enroll at Trenton Junior College. I completed my AS degree and while attending classes, met the late David Weatherfield. Mr. Weatherfield was the President of Trenton National Bank. He agreed to let me do my internship at the bank and then I became a full time employee working there for five and half years. In 1993, I applied for a billing clerk position with Grundy Electric Cooperative. After 29 years, I retired from a fulfilling career. Without the education I received at TJC and obtaining my degree, I don’t believe I would have had the opportunities that I did. Attending classes while having three small children was challenging but the reward was priceless.
The centennial celebration will continue throughout the academic year, and NCMC invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and our communities to be part of the story.
