Rebeccah Dorrell

My name is Rebeccah (Klee) Dorrell, and I’m proud to be from Menden, Missouri. I attended North Central Missouri College from 2010 to 2012, earning my Associate in Arts degree before transferring to Truman State University, where I later completed my bachelor’s degree.

Choosing NCMC was one of the most important decisions I ever made. At the time, my mother was often sick, and being close to home allowed me to support my family while still pursuing my education. Coming from a high school graduating class of just seven students, the small-town atmosphere and close-knit community at NCMC made the transition to college both comfortable and encouraging. The personal connections, supportive instructors, and sense of belonging helped build the confidence and resilience I’ve carried into every chapter of my life.

Today, I live in Brookfield, Missouri, where my husband and I own Local Luxuries Boutique and DD Taxidermy. Our daughter, Dottie, is our greatest blessing. Most recently, with the support of our incredible community, we launched the Brookfield Baby Bank, an initiative that provides free diapers, wipes, formula, and essential resources to families in need. The values I developed at NCMC—community, compassion, hard work, and staying grounded—have shaped every part of my journey. My time at NCMC didn’t just prepare me academically; it gave me the foundation to become a successful business owner, a community advocate, and the person I am today.

The centennial celebration will continue throughout the academic year, and NCMC invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and our communities to be part of the story.
