In honor of North Central Missouri College’s centennial, NCMC will spotlight 100 inspiring stories throughout the academic year. These narratives will showcase the voices and journeys of our alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors, and the communities that have shaped TJC/NCMC’s legacy. Each story is a tribute to the people throughout history who make NCMC extraordinary.

My time at NCMC has been nothing but positive. The faculty encouraged and supported me every step of the way, and the clinical experiences gave me the confidence I needed to grow as a nurse. I’m especially thankful to the NCMC Foundation and Dr. Klaver for believing in me and supporting my trip to the national NSNA conference; it was a life-changing opportunity. Because NCMC has invested so much into me, I feel it’s my responsibility and my honor to give back. One way I get to do that now is by serving as a tutor, encouraging and helping students who are on the same path I once was. I’m so grateful for everything NCMC has given me, and I hope to pass that same support on to the next generation of nurses. NCMC will always have a lasting place in my heart, and being a Pirate is something I’ll carry with me for life.
