Tori Dunks from Jamesport, MO, has been selected as North Central Missouri College’s Outstanding Student for May. Tori, a Missouri A+ scholarship student, recently graduated from NCMC with her Associate in Arts degree. Tori plans to transfer to Missouri Western to obtain a bachelor’s in communications and continue participating in collegiate dance on the Griffon’s Spirit dance team.
At NCMC, Tori was on the NCMC Dance Wave team, a student worker in the President’s office, involved in SSS and PTK. Tori was also selected as the 2025-2026 Outstanding Student Worker. Tori said, “My favorite thing about NCMC is the community, friends I have made, and the people I have met. The faculty and staff are amazing, and everyone is really supportive.” Tori’s favorite class has been sports communications with Instructor Ryan Suttenfield or internet marketing with Instructor Madi Stillwell. Tori said, “These classes were the most fitting for me and the career path I want to take. They were interesting, and I enjoyed them.”
Tori continued, “I chose NCMC because it was close to home and felt like the right decision. I was able to use A+ and dance. It also saved me a lot of money. It’s a small campus, and there is always someone there to help you.”
Each month, a student is nominated by a faculty or staff member to be featured as an Outstanding Student based on their dedication to educational success, attitude toward learning, and hard work in their field and activities.
