Want a career where you can support your community, work hands-on with patients, and use advanced medical technology? Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program at North Central Missouri College offers exactly that.
Sonographers — also called ultrasound technologists — use high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs, tissues, and blood flow. These images help doctors diagnose disease, monitor treatment, and keep patients healthy. At NCMC, students get the training and hands-on experience needed to start this rewarding career.
The DMS program is a two-year, full-time associate degree track offered at the Savannah Campus and is fully accredited by CAAHEP, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. This means the program meets the highest national standards for sonography education. The curriculum includes both classroom instruction and clinical experience in real healthcare settings. Students learn to perform abdominal, vascular, obstetric/gynecologic, and small-parts ultrasounds — skills that are in demand in hospitals, imaging centers, and physician offices.
