North Central Missouri College’s Upward Bound TRIO program partners with the Grundy County Jewett Norris Library to host an afternoon with award-winning author Ben Wolf on Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. This free event is designed to celebrate creativity, literacy, and the power of storytelling in our community.
As part of Upward Bound’s mission to empower local high school students through educational and cultural experiences, this event offers a unique opportunity for readers and aspiring writers to connect with a nationally recognized author. Guests will hear Ben Wolf’s journey as a writer, gain insights into the craft of writing and publishing, and learn about the collaborative process behind his latest novel.
Ben will be joined by his co-author and a professional audiobook narrator from Soundbooth Theatre, sharing behind-the-scenes perspectives on bringing stories to life through words and sound. Attendees can ask questions, get books signed, and even take a photo with the author.
This event also highlights the leadership and creativity of Upward Bound students, who played a key role in planning and promoting the program. Their efforts reflect the TRIO program’s commitment to fostering college readiness, cultural enrichment, and community engagement.

For the event we offer an option to Pre-registration. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a Ben Wolf merchandise basket donated by Friends of the Library, with bonus entries for those who pre-register.
